Dear Body, I Love You

Dear Body, I Love You - CEAN

A love letter to your original plus-one this Valentines

This Valentine’s, the CEAN team sat down together and did something simple.
We each wrote a letter to our own bodies.

We write letters to the people we love.
This series is about writing one to the body.

Dear Body, I Love You is a reminder to treat the body with respect rather than urgency. To notice the moments when listening mattered. When care became a priority. When the body stopped being something to push through and started being something to protect.

Because energy is precious.
Clarity lives in the body.
And how you care for yourself sets the tone for everything else.

Your body is not separate from your work, your relationships, or your ambition.
It carries all of it.

This is a moment to acknowledge that relationship.
To slow down.
To say thank you.

Dear body,

You’ve been here for every version of me.
The confident days. The tired ones. The seasons I didn’t see coming.

You’ve carried long hours and quiet mornings. Held stress without complaint. Given energy even when I borrowed too much from tomorrow. You’ve signalled when to slow down, even when I chose not to listen.

I haven’t always treated you well.
I’ve rushed you. Asked more than I should have. Expected you to keep up without support.

But you stayed.

You adapted. You carried me through. You kept showing up.

Lately, I’m learning to listen sooner. To care before things feel off. To choose rest, nourishment, and support without waiting for permission. Not because I need fixing, but because you deserve respect.

You are not something I live around.
You are where I live.

And this Valentine’s, I’m choosing to treat you like the original plus-one you’ve always been.

With care.
With attention.
With love.
